FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood lacrosse had to wait, but it is official: the Lancers are headed to the Big South playoffs for the second time in three seasons.

Longwood will enter the conference tournament as the No. 6 seed after closing the season tied with both Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian. However, the Lancers won the tiebreaker among the three times based on the highest RPI following the conclusion of Saturday's games.

Now, the Lancers will take on the No. 3 seed, Wofford, on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. down in Spartanburg, S.C.

Longwood (3-11, 2-6 Big South) is led by
Madison Rogers in scoring. The sophomore has 35 goals and nine assists on the year, and she has scored multiple goals in 11 of the team's 14 matches this season.

In addition,
Bailey Stratton (16 goals),
Alexandra Hirst (15 goals) and
Jordan Fitzgerald (13 goals) have all scored at least 10 goals.

Sarah Forman (five goals, 15 assists) leads the team in assists, with
Kendra DeFilippo (nine goals, 14 assists) and Hirst (13 assists) also in double figures in assists.

On defense,
Zenie Newsome,
Peyton Daley,
Alexandra Burst,
Sienna Huffman and
Lily Stohlman have helped the Lancers be one of the best teams in the nation in caused turnovers per game. The team leads the Big South, averaging 12 CTs per game, which also ranks in the top 10 nationally.

Isabella McCullough has led the team in goal this season, making 146 saves and averaging better than 10 saves per game.
