FARMVILLE, Va. – Sophia Passa continues a strong stretch of play for Longwood women's lacrosse, and the freshman was named the Big South Freshman of the Week for a second week in a row.
Â
Passa posted six goals, two assists and four draw controls over two games for the Lancers last week.
Â
The freshman led the Lancers in an overtime thriller with six goals at Wofford last Wednesday. The six goals were a career high, and she added an assist to boot. It was her fourth straight multi-goal performance. She posted six goals on only 10 shots in that game, and she had a draw control as well.
Â
Against Mercer, the reigning Big South Champion, she had an assist to go with three draw controls.
Â
Passa was also named the Big South Freshman of the Week last week, and she has scored 14 of her 18 goals in the past five games. In addition, all six of her assists have come in that stretch. She has played in all 11 games for the team this season and started in eight straight.
Â
Longwood will host High Point on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. The game will be aired on ESPN+.
