HIGH POINT, N.C. – Madison Rogers tallied a hat trick for a second straight game for Longwood women's lacrosse, but a high-powered High Point attack pushed past Longwood 25-4 on Wednesday night.

Tatum Goettelmann led High Point (2-8, 2-1 Big South) with four goals and four assists to push Panthers past the Lancers (2-7, 1-2 Big South).

For Rogers, it was her sixth multi-goal game of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Rogers struck first for an early lead for the Lancers, tallying a goal on a free position less than two minutes in.
Â
However, High Point answered with back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead.

Rogers answered again with 8:34 to go in the first quarter, but High Point got on a role and scored six straight to close the quarter.
Â
From that point on, the Panthers kept Longwood off balance for the rest of the contest.

Alexandra Burst scored her first collegiate goal for Longwood after halftime while Rogers finished off her hat trick in the third quarter, but HPU's balanced attack kept pushing the lead forward.

Ava Welsh earned the win in goal for High Point after making seven saves.
Isabella McCullough made four saves for Longwood in the loss.
