FARMVILLE, Va. -- What's it like to play for Longwood women's basketball? Head coach
Rebecca Tillett shows Lancer fans just that in the latest edition of LongwoodLancers.com's Sights & Sounds video series.
With this Wednesday's season opener at Duke quickly approaching, the Lancers are nearing the end of a lengthy preseason that marks the start of Longwood's third year under Tillett's leadership. The Lancers have been busy inside Willett Hall preparing for the 2020-21 calendar and looking to further the momentum created by last year's breakthrough campaign.
Leading that charge for Longwood this year will be the starting quartet of reigning Big South Freshman of the Year and All-Big South first-team guard
Kyla McMakin, Lieberman Award Watch List point guard
Tra'Dayja Smith, Big South All-Freshman Team guard
Anne-Hamilton LeRoy and Longwood's newly crowned single-season blocks leader
Akila Smith. Those four helped push the Lancers to eight Big South wins one year ago and a second-place ranking on the league's scoring leaderboard.
The Sights & Sounds video is the second highlighting women's basketball this fall, with the other
covering the Lancers' annual photo day with special guest host, senior
Mallory Odell.
Previous editions of the Sights & Sounds video series highlighted Longwood
men's basketball,
field hockey,
women's soccer,
cross country,
softball,
baseball,
women's lacrosse, and
women's golf.
