FARMVILLE, Va. – Recent Longwood graduates
Riley Dolan and
Brianna Kelly, along with rising senior
Jessica Sanfilippo of the lacrosse team were named to the 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll.
As a whole, the Lancers were named a 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad for an eighth consecutive season dating back to the 2011 campaign. To qualify for the prestigious honor, a team must post a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the 2017-18 academic year.
The three student-athletes on the 2018 squad are the most since 2013 when four Lancers were honored.
In order to earn Academic Honor Roll recognition, a student-athlete must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
After setting the program record for single-season assists (63) and leading the NCAA, Dolan earned her second Academic Honor Roll in as many seasons becoming the eighth Lancer to earn a spot on the Academic Honor Roll roster twice. Meanwhile, Kelly and Sanfilippo earned their first accolades after strong performances in the classroom.
Since the IWLCA began rewarding student-athletes for their success off the field in 2009, a total of 14 Lancers have been named Academic Honor Roll recipients.
