FARMVILLE, Va. - The Longwood University men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Stony Brook University on Monday evening in Farmville. Junior Billy Heird/York, Pa. (Dallastown) earned the lone win for the Lancers at the #5 singles (6-3, 4-6, 6-3). Longwood fell to 10-7 while Stony Brook improved to 10-4. The Lancers return to action on Friday, traveling to Buies Creek, North Carolina to take on Campbell University at 2 p.m.

In other singles action, senior Carlos Garcia de Andoain/Madrid, Spain (Liceo Sorolla 'C') fell at #1 (6-4, 1-6, 3-6), senior Brandon Lindsley/Woodbridge (Woodbridge) lost at #2 (6-4, 3-6, 0-6), freshman Nobu Tanaka/Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College) fell at #3 (6-4, 1-6 (13-15)), junior David Cardoso/Porto, Portugal (Externato Lumen) fell at #4 (4-6, 4-6) and junior Andres Lazarte/Vienna, Va. (San Miguel) lost at #6 (0-6, 1-6).

The Lancer earned one win in the doubles but lost the point. Cardoso and Garcia de Andoain won at #2 (8-4). Heird and sophomore Milo Barajas-Alexander/Arlington (Bishop O'Connell) fell at #1 (5-8) and Lindsley and Tanaka fell at #3 (8-9 (3)).
