WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Fourth-ranked Wake Forest defeated the Longwood men's tennis team, 4-0, on Sunday.
The Demon Deacons (23-2), who won the 2025 NCAA team championship, opened the match with wins on courts three and one, respectively, to take the doubles point.
Kacper Szymkowiak and Cornelius Shalmi topped Alejandro Uribe and Daniel Lopez, 6-2 before Aryan Shah and Andrew Delgado defeated Daniel Borisov and Marko Mrdak by the same score.
In singles, 20th-ranked Luca Pow got by Rufus Plane, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 while Szymkowiak defeated Ninad Ruat by the same count on court four.
Wake Forest clinched on court six through No. 93 Delgado, who beat Uribe, 6-3, 6-1.
Borisov won the first set, 7-5 in his top-flight match with Charlie Robertson and was leading, 4-1, in the second set when the match was halted.
Longwood fell to 6-5 with the loss.
The Lancers are back in action Wednesday when they travel to Howard. First serve is set for 4 p.m., at Banneker Recreation Center.
