FINAL TEAM/TOP 20 INDIVIDUALS (PDF)
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Longwood University shot a final round of 314 Sunday in women's golf for a 54-hole total of 928 (310-304-314) to finish in third-place among 15 teams at the Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State University. The College of William and Mary won the event with its 297-305-307--909 at the 6,288-yard, par 72 Penn State Blue golf course layout, while Callie Kemmer of Yale took medalist honors at 73-73-74--220. The Lancers will play again next weekend, September 19-21, at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate to be hosted by Elon University in Sunset Beach, North Carolina.
At Penn State, Longwood was led by sophomore
Kameron Carter/Bassett (Bassett) with her 77-77-74--228 to place in a tie for 10th among 75 collegiate golfers. Carter was followed by senior
Mary Carmody/Cortland, N.Y. (Cortland) (76-77-77--230, 13th), senior
Kara Spence/Hampton (Phoebus) (79-75-81--235, t-29th) and sophomore
Brooke Mallory/Brockville, Ontario (St. Mary Catholic) (78-75-82--235, t-29th), along with redshirt-freshman
Mary Hashagen/Manassas (Osbourn Park) (87-82-88--257, 58th).
