FARMVILLE, Va. – Avery Nordman had her best collegiate finish earlier in the week, and the Big South Conference announced her as the Big South Women's Golfer of the Week this afternoon.

Nordman placed second at the Mimosa Hills Invitational to lead a shorthanded Longwood side to a third-place finish at the event.

Nordman was consistent, carding a 72-74-76—222 (+6) over the three rounds to stay in the top five throughout the course of the event.

The freshman had 10 birdies in her 54 holes, and she finished only behind the 59
th ranked player in the nation.

For Nordman, it marked her seventh weekly honor from the Big South during the course of the season. She was the Freshman of the Week six times prior to earning Golfer of the Week for the first time.

Longwood's regular season is complete, and the team heads to the Big South Championship, which begins Sunday, April 19. Stroke play runs through Tuesday April 21 before match play begins with the top four teams in the standings on Wednesday, April 22.
