Madison Lehr,
Abigail Sheldon and
Chiara Wippert all earned postseason accolades from the Big South, the conference office announced this morning.

Lehr was named the Big South Newcomer of the Year in addition to earning All-Big South Honorable Mention honors. Nordman was named All-Big South Second Team while also garnering a spot on the All-Freshman Team. Sheldon picked up All-Big South Honorable Mention honors as well, and Wippert was selected for the All-Academic Team.

The foursome helped Longwood women's golf advance to match play in the Big South for the second time in the past three seasons, and the team's third-place effort in stroke play matched the program's best finish in the league.

Lehr finished on the All-Championship Team at the Big South Tournament after tying for third, the top finisher on the team. She had three top five finishes and five top 10 finishes this season.

The sophomore played her best golf down the stretch, finishing in the top 10 in each of her tournaments this spring. She fired a career-low 69 in her final round of stroke play at the Big South Championship as well, which tied for the fourth-best round this season among the team.

Nordman ranked ninth in the Big South in scoring average heading into the Big South tournament, and she had a trio of top 10 finishes this season. She carded her best finish of the season in the final regular season tournament, finishing second at The Mimosa Invitational at the end of March.

Sheldon finished tied for seventh at the Big South Championship and was third on the team in scoring average through the regular season. She finished in the top 10 three times on the year, and she led the teams in rounds under 70 with three. She finished in the top 10 in back-to-back tournaments to close the season after finishing tied for 10
th at The Mimosa Invitational in addition to the Big South Tournament.

Wippert garnered All-Academic honors after posting a perfect GPA through her time at Longwood. The sophomore also finished fourth on the team in scoring average and matched her best finish of the season by finishing 11
th at the Big South Tournament.

The Lancers fell 3-2 to UNC Asheville in the Big South Match Play Semifinals on Wednesday after carding a 310-306-301—917 (+53) in stroke play to finish third.
