FARMVILLE, Va. – Madison Lehr and
Avery Nordman were two of Longwood's top three finishers at The Nashville Invitational earlier in the week, and the duo were recognized with weekly honors by the Big South Conference on Thursday.
Lehr was named the Big South Co-Player of the Week, along with
Breanna Hoese from UNC Asheville, while
Avery Nordman garnered Big South Freshman of the Week honors for the sixth time this season.
Lehr earned Longwood's first Big South Player of the Week honor thanks to a finish that saw her tie for sixth. She posted a four-over 75-72-73—220 (+4) to record her third straight top six finish.
She helped Longwood finish fifth as a team at The Nashville Invitational for the team's fourth straight finish in fifth or better at a tournament.
Nordman, meanwhile, tied for 29
th in the 91-player field with a 76-78-74—228 (+12). Her final round 74 helped her climb up into the top third of the field in the final round.
The Lancers return to the links early next week with a trip to the Mimosa Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State, at the Mimosa Hills Golf & Country Club in Morganton, N.C. on March 30-31.
