GADSDEN, Ala. – Madison Lehr had her best collegiate finish, and Abigail Sheldon posted her finest round of her young college career to close out the Chris Banister Golf Classic.
 
The duo helped Longwood move up into the top four in the third and final round of the event, hosted at the RTJ Golf Trail at Silver Lakes.
 
NOTABLE RESULTS:
 
Lehr tied for third with three incredibly consistent rounds, and she saved her best for last. After matching 74s before carding a one-under 71 in the final round.
 
Over the 54 holes, she did not have anything worse than a bogey. In the final round, she had four birdies, and she finished with 10 at the tournament to shoot a 74-74-71—219 (+3).
 
Sheldon, meanwhile, vaulted 21 spots up the board with a 68 that tied the lowest round of the day to finish 12^th. The only other player to match her was 44^th ranked Madison Messimer from Tennessee.
 
The sophomore put home six birdies in her final 13 holes to close the event with a 77-79-68—224 (+8).
 
Chiara Wippert finished in sole possession of 34^th with a 77-77-79—233 (+17), and she had a pair of birdies in the tournament while excelling at limiting the damage.
