FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood lacrosse hits the road for a matchup with Presbyterian on Saturday afternoon. The two teams are tied for sixth in the Big South standings, with six teams advancing to the Big South Tournament.
 
MATCHUP HISTORY:
  • Longwood (2-8, 1-3 Big South) and Presbyterian (4-9, 1-3 Big South) have met in every season since 2008 except for the 2020 season that was canceled.
  • The Lancers lead the series 15-2.
  • Presbyterian won the last meeting between the two teams last year, 13-12, in Farmville.
  • Over the past five meetings, Longwood has won three while PC has won two.
SCOUTING THE BLUE HOSE:
  • The Blue Hose picked up their first conference win, 10-9, over Gardner-Webb in double overtime on Wednesday.
  • PC also has wins over Manhattan, Delaware State and New Haven.
  • Emily Curry leads the team in both goals (31) and points (37).
  • Kate Dominick has a team-best 15 assists while adding 18 goals.
  • Alyssa Perez (23 goals) and Kaylie Rittmueller (12 goals) also have scored at least 10 goals this season.
  • Kayleigh Aitken has played the bulk of the minutes in goal and is 2-5 with 70 saves. Morgan Thompson also has a pair of wins while making 40 saves.
SOPHOMORE SCORERS:
  • Four sophomores lead Longwood in points this season.
  • Madison Rogers has a team-best 27 goals and 29 points.
  • Bailey Stratton is second on the team with 13 goals.
  • Alexandra Hirst has nine goals and eight assists, and Sarah Forman leads the team with nine assists to go with four goals.
JACK OF ALL TRADES:
  • Jordan Fitzgerald has been a contributor all over the field for Longwood this season.
  • The junior leads the team with 31 draw controls.
  • She also has 11 ground balls and nine caused turnovers.
  • On offense, Fitzgerald has posted eight goals and three assists, and she is tied for the team lead with four free position goals.
ON THE DRAW:
  • In addition to Fitzgerald's 31 draw controls on the season, two other Lancers have also played a big part.
  • Hirst is second on the team with 25 draw controls.
  • Montgomery Bedford also has 18 draw controls.

  • Three players rank in the top 110 nationally, with Peyton Daley leading the team at 2.10 CTs per game. She ranks fourth in the Big South and 31st nationally. The freshman has 20 CTs this season.
  • Meanwhile, Zenie Newsom and Lily Stohlman are tied for 13th in the league and 110th nationally with 1.40 CTs per game. Stohlman has 15 CTs while Newsom has 14.
  • Alexandra Burst also has 10 CTs.
  • In addition, Longwood is third in the Big South, and 11th nationally, with 18.1 ground balls per game as a team.
  • Newsome leads the team with 26 GBs, and Daley has added 20.

  • Goalkeeper Isabella McCullough ranks eighth in the nation, and second in the Big South, in saves per game with 9.80.
