CONWAY, S.C. – Longwood Lacrosse heads to Conway, South Carolina, to compete against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers to kick off the 2026 season. This will be the first match for both programs of the season. 
 
Matchup History:

• The programs have faced off four times and are 2-2 against each other.
• The last time the Lancers competed with the Chanticleers was in 2016, with Coastal Carolina winning 14-6 back when the two teams were both members of the Big South. 

• Two Coastal Carolina players were named to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team: Junior Gabrielle Beaudet and Senior Grace Lord.   
• The team returns three of their leading scorers, Alyson Mascolo (34 goals, two assists), Gabrielle Beaudet (31 goals, four assists), and Evelyn Kitchin (19 goals, two assists). 
• Goalie Charlotte Sadler returns this season to anchor the defense from in goal. Sadler currently has 341 career saves, with a career .436 save percentage. 

• Longwood has six players returning who scored double-digit goals last season: junior Jordan Fitzgerald (16 goals, six assists), sophomore Bailey Stratton (15 goals, one assist), sophomore Alexandra Hirst (14 goals, 11 assists), senior Kendra DeFilippo (13 goals, five assists), sophomore Madison Rogers (13 goals, one assist), and junior Mikaela Cook (10 goals, five assists). 
• Fitzgerald (16 caused turnovers) and senior Lily Stohlman (12 caused turnovers) led the Lancer defense last season.
• Stohlman (25 ground balls) and Fitzgerald (22 ground balls) also led Longwood in ground balls a season ago.
• Goalkeeper Isabella McCullough returns for the Lancers after redshirting last season. She has 78 career saves and a .451 career save percentage. Her last outing in goal was with the U20 Mexican National Team in the U20 Women's World Championships. Bree Riggs joins the goalie world after playing her first season with Lancer field hockey this fall. She was a letterwinner in both field hockey and lacrosse during high school. 

• Longwood features a young roster, with more than half of the squad being underclassmen.
• The Lancers have 18 players who are either freshman or sophomores.
• Among the six players returning who scored at least 10 goals, four are sophomores with one junior and senior rounding out the group. 

• The Lancers play three of their first four matches on the road to start the 2026 campaign.
• Longwood's first two matches are away from home. In addition to the matchup at Coastal Carolina, the Lancers head to William & Mary on Saturday, Feb. 14.
• Longwood plays its home opener against Campbell one week later on Saturday, Feb. 21, before heading to VCU on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
