WHAT THEY SAID:
"Our day didn't begin or end very well, but we did a lot of good things in the middle," said Longwood Head Coach
Kevin Fillman. "We really have to figure out why we're not starting very well. This morning was the third straight tournament we've begun by putting ourselves in a hole early."
"Once we got a few holes into the morning round, we began to play some pretty good golf and sustained that level into and through a good portion of the afternoon round," Fillman added. "It's unfortunate that we weren't able to finish it off the way we wanted. We had a terrific opportunity to make things a little easier on ourselves, but now we've kind of put ourselves in a position where we're going to have to go fight for everything tomorrow. There's no other option, so that's what we're going to do."
