CALABASH, N.C. – Josh Cummins carded his best finish as a Lancer which was good enough to win the Larry and Wally Edgell Battle at Brunswick earlier today.

The freshman was one of three Lancers who played as an individual at event at the Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort, which was hosted by Fairmont State this weekend.

NOTABLE RESULTS:

Cummins was incredibly consistent for all three rounds, carding a 73-71-70—214 (-2) over the past three days. He ripped off eight of his nine birdies in each of his last two rounds ,and he had nothing worse than a bogey through his 54 holes.

After entering the final day in the top spot, he held off a hard charge from Joseph Emery out of Bluefield State to win by a stroke.
Â
The score was his best as a Lancer, and the finish was not only his first medal but also his first top 10 finish in his debut season.

Alexander Hoerner also played in the event and tied for 13
th. He posted a 77-71-75—223 (+7). He carded nine birdies over the three rounds.

Kai Krishnan was the third Lancer at the event, and he tied for 35
th with an 80-75-75—230 (+14). He had seven birdies on the weekend.
