FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – Longwood women's golf wrapped up the second day of the Big South Championship in eighth on Monday afternoon.
 
Ester Choi ended the day tied for 10^th for the Lancers at the Par 72, 6,032 yard course at Fripp Island Resort.
 
NOTABLE RESULTS:
 
The Lancers sit one shot back from sixth, where Gardner-Webb and USC Upstate are tied, and five shots back from Presbyterian in fifth. Longwood is 15 strokes from entering the top four.
 
Choi stayed consistent for most of the day, posting a 77 on a day when low scores were relatively tough to come by.
 
She had a pair of birdies in the round, and she is tied for 10^th with a 75-77—152 (+8).
 
Meanwhile, Hannah Wang put together the low round for the Lancers on the day, and she climbed up 11 spots into a tie for 25^th. She knocked six strokes off her score from day one by firing three birdies in the round. Through two rounds, she has an 82-76—158 (+14).
 
Abigail Sheldon is also tied for 25^th after mirroring Wang's first and second round scores. She also sits 14 over with a 76-82—158 (+14).
 
Breanna Hoese is tied for 30^th after posting a 79-80—159 (+15) through two rounds.
 
Chiara Wippert, who had been battling an inury coming in, had to withdraw after the opening nine holes, and Aine Martin will sub in for the third and final round on Tuesday.

WHAT THEY SAID:

"Ester and Hannah really took the pressure and played well today; I think they will be proud of their final tournament performance!" said Longwood Head Coach Megan Weaver. "Aine will be subbing in for Chiara tomorrow. The strategy will be the same as today: commit to the hole strategy and club selection and mentally let go of any bad shots or holes."
