CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – A steady, consistent rain washed out the third and final round of the NCAA Men's Golf Regional on Tuesday afternoon.
Â
Despite the rain,
Justin LaRue was able to complete the final hole of his second round early in the morning, along with the remainder of the field that had failed to complete the second round due to darkness on opening day.
Â
LaRue finished the second round tied for 44
th in the field at three-over. He fired an opening round 71 before posting a 72 on the Par 70, 7,084 yard UNC Finley Golf Course.
Â
After playing through the first 17 holes of the second round on Monday afternoon and into the evening, he came into Tuesday morning with one hole to go.
Â
He handled his business on the 18
th, making a worry-free par, before preparing to tee off again at 12:12 p.m. However, rain halted play multiple times due to unplayable course conditions.
Â
The field is scheduled to begin teeing off at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. LaRue is slated to tee off, weather permitting, at 8:17 a.m.
