Ester Choi and
Lauren Sims ripped off huge rounds, and Longwood women's golf is tied for second to open the Big South Women's Championship on Sunday afternoon.

The trio are all tied for sixth in the 47 player field, and the Lancers notched a 298 as a team to tie with High Point. All five players finished the day in the top 20.

The Lancers are two shots behind Charleston Southern, the current tournament leaders, but Longwood is the only team with all five players in the top 20.

Longwood was tied for the lead among the field on average scoring on Par 5s, and the Lancers led the field with 58 pars.

Landis, Choi and
Breanna Hoese all tied for the second-best average score on Par 5s in the field.
Â
Landis had two birdies and a dozen pars. She had nothing worse than a bogey on the day.

Choi was equally as consistent. She had one birdie and 14 pars, and, like Landis, didn't have anything worse than a bogey.

Sims had a card that was similar to Landis. She also carded two birdies and 12 pars with nothing worse than a bogey. She and
Annabelle Jennings led Longwood on average score on Par 4s, with a score tied for seventh-best in the field on such holes.

Jennings tied for the team lead with three birdies, and she added 11 pars. She was tied for seventh in the field with the three birdies.
Â
Hoese also added three birdies, with two coming on the back nine. She was at her best on Par 3s, tied for the seventh-best score on such holes.

Megan Weaver. "The hard work is paying off, and it is a great time to hit our stride. The course requires simple golf—keeping the ball in play on some very narrow holes. We recovered from bad shots perfectly and stayed mentally strong."
