FARMVILLE, Va. – Matthew Lyons won The Manor Invite, hosted by Hampden-Sydney, on Sunday afternoon after posting back-to-back rounds below par.
The Lancer freshman was one of four individuals who competed in the event this weekend, and all four finished in the top 10 at the event.

NOTABLES:
Lyons had a pair of eagles on Sunday in the final round, tied for the most in the field, and he had five birdies on the first day while shooting his lowest round of the season, a 68.
For Lyons, his 68 was tied for the fourth-lowest round, relative to par, on the season for the team. He was tied for the best score in the field on Par 4s, and he was tied for the second-best score on Par 5s.
David LaFreniere was even on Par 3s, tied for second-best in the field, and he earned his first top five finish of the season. He tied for the third-most birdies in the field with eight, and he also had an eagle.
Willie Hoover rebounded from a tough opening round to fire a 71, and he was the best player in the field on Par 5s, posting an average score of 4.38 on such holes. It was his first top 10 finish of the season.
Logan Hooper was tied for the second-most pars on the team, and he earned his first top 10 finish of the season.
