FARMVILLE, Va. –Longwood men's golf coach
Kevin Fillman announced the addition of four signees during the early signing period.
Â
The Lancers will welcome Josh Cummins (Christiansburg, Va. | Christiansburg HS), Matthew Hartley (Stafford, Va. | Colonial Forge HS), Kai Krishnan (Nottingham, England | Rushcliffe Spencer Academy) and Gabriel Mainella (Richmond Hill, Ontario | Richmond Green Secondary School) to Farmville next fall.
Â
"Given the players we have who will be out of eligibility once our spring season is completed, it was very important to bring in a class that would integrate well with our returning players and keep us at a championship level of play," said Longwood Head Coach
Kevin Fillman. "I feel strongly that we've done that with this group. Maybe it's just the old-school coach in me, but it was also personally important to find first-year guys who wanted to come in and grow individually, build together as a team and be part of something really special over the course of their careers. Even though our roster will flip from mostly upperclassmen to a heavy underclass majority for 2025-26, I would expect our quality of play to remain fairly steady. Beyond golf, all four are nearly straight-A students, which will help us meet our team academic goals as well. I'm looking forward to getting everybody to campus in August."
