Â
WHAT THEY SAID:
Â
"I honestly have few words to describe what happened today," said Longwood Head Coach
Kevin Fillman. "'Surprising' would be one I could use publicly. We started out this morning with a couple guys getting stuck in an elevator while trying to leave the hotel, and it didn't seem to get much better after that. Maybe that situation was a bit of an omen."
Â
"Seriously, most of us just need to flush today's round and get ourselves ready to go play tomorrow," Fillman added. "There's a lot of golf left to play this week, and we need to focus on the opportunity in front of us. We've certainly backed ourselves into a corner, but I told the guys this has the makings to be one of the greatest comebacks in college golf history."
