HOW IT HAPPENED:
Hoese led the charge in the final round with the team's best round of the invitational. The round tied for the third best score on the day.
For the freshman, it was her best round through two tournaments by six strokes. She was one of only six players to score under par on the day.
Emma Landis stayed consistent with a final round of 75 to finish tied for 36, and all three of her rounds finished within one stroke of each other.
Lauren Sims posted a final round 78 while
Annabelle Jennings posted an 80.
Ester Choi carded a final round of 82.
WHAT THEY SAID:
"The course can be easy to score low if the players are on the correct side of the sloping greens," said Longwood Head Coach
Megan Weaver. "Bre really took advantage of that and finished one-under for the day. The team overall had solid ball striking, but they lacked the needed confidence on the challenging greens."
UP NEXT:
Longwood has a break before the team's next tournament. The Lancers head to the UNCG Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, October 9-10, at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
