ELON, N.C. – Emma Landis posted two solid rounds, and
Ester Choi had the lowest single round for Longwood women's golf to open the Elon Women's Invitational on Monday afternoon. The Lancers are 12
th out of 15 teams.
Landis was tied for 33
rd after 36 holes, and Choi carded a 72 in the opening round before finishing the day tied for 44
th.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Choi led the way in the first round, with her 72 serving as the team's top round on the day. She helped the Lancers shoot a 299, their lowest round of the young 2023-24 campaign.
Meanwhile, Landis was consistent with her back-to-back rounds. She finished tied for 33
rd in the 85-player field following a 74-75 over her two rounds.
Breanna Hoese and
Annabelle Jennings finished within two strokes of each other, with Hoese tied for 53
rd and Jennings tied for 62
nd. Hoese had a 76 in her opening round, matching her best round last weekend.
Lauren Sims wrapped up the day tied for 70
th. She posted a 77, her best round of the year, in her first 18 holes.
WHAT THEY SAID:
"I'm really proud of the team for posting our first sub-300 score in round one," said Longwood Head Coach
Megan Weaver. "We had a few mental mistakes in round two, but everyone finished the last stretch of holes strong. Hopefully the momentum carries into tomorrow with another round in the 200s!"
