WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Emma Landis finished tied for fifth to wrap up the first fall event for Longwood women's golf.
Landis's third career top five finish led the Lancers to finish seventh out of the nine teams in the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
On the final day, Longwood shaved one stroke off its second round score, with
Breanna Hoese posting the team's best score on the day.
The freshman shot a 76 with a consistent round that featured 14 pars to move up to 37
th overall out of the 51 player field.
Annabelle Jennings carded a 77 in the final round and had a trio of birdies to move up four spots.
Landis closed with a 78 on the final round on a day where only three players shot par or better on the course. Her three-round score went down as her best 54-hole tournament as a Lancer, and her fifth place finish tied for her second-best finish in her career.
Lauren Sims and
Ester Choi finished within two strokes of each other.
WHAT THEY SAID:

Megan Weaver. "We left some shots out there, but it was a good learning experience."

The Lancers are back in action in one week when they head to the Elon Invitational at the Alamance Country Club in Burlington, North Carolina on Monday and Tuesday, September 18-19.
