GREENSBORO, N.C. – Longwood women's golf opened their third round of the fall at the UNCG Collegiate on Monday. The Lancers finished round one, but round two was suspended due to darkness.

Ester Choi led Longwood with a 73 in first round, and the Lancers are among the top six after play was suspended.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Choi powered Longwood with a consistent round that saw her post 15 pars in 18 holes in round one. She didn't have anything worse than a bogey, and she was on pace for a solid second round as well.

Lauren Sims posted her best round of the fall with a first-round 74. She had two birdies, which tied for the team lead, and she also avoided anything worse than a bogey.

Breanna Hoese tallied a 76 and had a pair of birdies in the first round.
Emma Landis also posted two birdies for her opening round 77, and
Annabelle Jennings had two birdies as well while shooting a 78.

Competing as an individual in her collegiate debut, Aine Martin posted an 83 in her first round.

WHAT THEY SAID:

"We had a really strong start and were leading the field through 13 holes!" said Longwood Head Coach
Megan Weaver. "We were tested for a stretch of three holes, but I was glad to see improvement on the holes in the second round. Everyone was swinging confidently and recovering after bad shots."
