EDISTO BEACH, S.C. – Annabelle Jennings put together her best rounds of the season to lead Longwood women's golf through two rounds at the Edisto Island Invitational.
 
Jennings was tied for 10^th after 36 holes, and Longwood was 11^th. The Lancers sit one stroke outside of the top 10 and two back from being top eight.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
Jennings was consistent throughout the day to lead the charge for Longwood. She had five birdies and 23 pars for the Lancers.
 
The senior was at her best on Par 5s, where she was tied for sixth in the field in scoring at two-under. She also led Longwood in scoring average on Par 4s as well.
 
Emma Landis tied for 38^th in the field after knocking three strokes off her first-round score with a second-round 73. She tied for the team lead with six birdies on the day.
 
Breanna Hoese also shaved three strokes off her score with a second-round 74. The freshman tied with Landis with six birdies on the day.
 
Choi carded the team's second best round to start the day with a 74, and she had a team-high 24 pars over the two rounds.
 
Sims knocked off two strokes from her first round score, and she tied with Jennings with five birdies.

WHAT THEY SAID:

"For playing a shorter-than-normal yardage, the course played tough with 15-20 mph winds all day," said Longwood Head Golf Coach Megan Weaver. "We had too many 'big-numbered' holes in round one due to penalty strokes. I was happy to see round two scores beating round one for the first time this fall! Our short game was solid all day. If we can limit our 'big numbers' to bogeys tomorrow, we can make moves in the rankings."

Longwood plays the third and final round of the invitational tomorrow morning, Tuesday.
