FARMVILLE, Va. – Coastal Carolina won the doubles point and went on to win all six singles matches to earn a 7-0 victory over the Longwood men's tennis team Sunday afternoon at Lancer Courts. Longwood falls to 2-12 on the season, while Coastal Carolina improves to 7-6.

Dan Elston's streak of five straight victories atop the singles lineup came to an end, as Philippe Tsangarides defeated the Longwood ace, 6-4, 6-3. Elston falls to 12-6 on the season and is 7-3 in his last 10 matches.

At the No 4 spot in the order, Steed Johnson bounced back after losing the first set against Pedro Leme, 6-3, to send the match into a third-set tiebreak by winning the second, 6-4. In the tiebreak, Leme outlasted Johnson by winning the 10-point tiebreak to take the match, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (5).

Florian Uffer dropped his match at the No. 2 position against Kaue Pereira, 6-2, 6-4, while Alfonso Castellano fell on court three against Vuk Velickovic, 6-0, 6-3.

At the No. 5 position of the order, Lachlan Manser fell in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, against Renan Samed, while Rosen Ilchev fell by the same score on court six against Rick Timmerman.

The Chanticleers also won the doubles point to open the match, earning a victory on all three courts. The duo of Bharani Sankar and Ilchev fell at the No. 3 position against Timmerman and Velickovic, 8-5, while Johnson and Elston fell, 8-3, at the top of the order against Tsangarides and Pereira.

Castellano and Uffer also suffered an 8-3 defeat against the team of Leme and Samed on court two.

The Lancers will continue its six-match home stand against Chowan Wednesday, March 25. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m.
