FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood women's lacrosse team will make its 2015 home debut Saturday against Elon at 1 p.m. at the Longwood Athletics Complex.
Â
The Lancers (0-1) enter the year with a veteran lineup that includes 10 returning starters and Big South Preseason All-Conference selections

Â
Longwood is coming off back-to-back third-place finishes in the Big South in 2013 and 2014 and has embarked on the program's third season under head coach
Elaine Jones. Jones has guided the program to a 10-4 mark in conference play and is in charge of a Lancer squad that this year was picked for a third-place finish in the Big South by the league's coaches.
Â
The Phoenix (1-1) will make their first road trip of the year after splitting a pair of season-opening home matchups against Kennesaw State and No. 8 Duke. Elon rolled Kennesaw State 24-8 in the season opener on Jan. 31 and then fell, 17-8, to the top-10 Blue Devils on Feb. 7.
