Clayton Forren/Rustburg has been named this week's
Big South Conference Crons Brand Men's Golf Freshman Of The Week for his efforts at the season-opening SpringHill Suites Intercollegiate on September 9-10 at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence. He led the Lancers with his 54-hole score of 73-73-72--218 at the 7,062-yard, par 72 layout. Forren, making his collegiate debut for Longwood, tied for 26th place with his two-over par total, helping the Lancers to a team score of 293-292-300--885 and an 11th-place finish. He tied for sixth in par 3 scoring (2.92, -1) and tied for eighth in birdies (11) among the 65 golfers. His 218 is the second-lowest debut (Kenny Leech, 215, 2008) at Longwood since the program became Division I-eligible for 2006-07.
