FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University suffered a 21-6 women's lacrosse loss to vsiting Old Dominion University of the Colonial Athletic Association Wednesday afternoon in Farmville. Sophomore
Lauren Prasnicki|Lexington (Rockbridge County) scored three goals against the Monarchs (3-5) to lead the Lancers (1-7). Longwood will travel to Washington, D.C. Friday, March 30 for a 4 p.m. draw at Howard University of the National Lacrosse Conference in its first league game.
Longwood got off to a great start, taking a 2-1 lead at 25:33 after a goal from senior
Jessica Rudloff|West Chester, Pa. (West Chester) that followed Prasnicki's first goal at 26:46 from a Rudloff assist. Old Dominion, however, ran away with 16 unanswered goals that extended to 20:17 of the second half.
After a 14-2 halftime score, the Lancers finally found the back of the net again at 18:58 in the second period as Prasnicki finished her second goal of the game. She promptly scored her third tally at 16:45 to make it a 17-4 margin, but the Monarchs scored three-straight between 14:46 and 9:26 for a 20-4 advantage. Redshirt-freshman
