PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. – Longwood University posted a 54-hole score of 301-297-308--906 Monday and Tuesday in men's golf to finish in a tie for fifth place among 11 teams at the Triumph at Pauma Valley hosted by the University of San Francisco and played at the Pauma Valley Country Club in northern California. The University of Central Arkansas won the event with its 292-290-292--874 at the 7,076-yard, par 71 layout. Senior
Michael Young|Oakville, Ontario (Oakville Trafalgar) led the Lancers with his 72-71-75--218, finishing in fourth place in the field of 66, while USF's Ji Hwan Park took individual medalist honors at 73-71-66--210. Longwood will compete again March 26-27 at the 54-hole Fireline Invitational hosted by Towson University at the Prospect Bay County Club in Grasonville, Maryland.
Young posted his fifth top-five, and sixth top-10 individual finish in seven events this year while continuing his impressive senior campaign (72.04 scoring average). He tied for first in par 3 scoring (2.92, -1), tied for seventh in par 4 scoring (4.15, +5), tied for ninth in pars (34), and tied for 11th in birdies (8). Young was followed by juniors
