GREENVILLE, N.C. – Longwood University posted a final round of 292 Sunday in men's golf for a 54-hole total of 909 (322-295-292) to finish 11th among 17 teams at the Ironwood Pirate Intercollegiate hosted by East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Host East Carolina won the event with its 291-292-292--875 at the 7,102-yard, par 72 Ironwood Country Club, while Tim Driver of James Madison University took individual medalist honors with his 73-73-65--211. The Lancers will play again April 13-14 at the Palisades Collegiate Classic hosted by UNC Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina.
At ECU, Longwood was led by sophomore
Michael Young/Oakville, Ontario (Oakville Trafalgar) with his 81-73-73--227 to tie for 31st-place among the 92 golfers. Young was followed by freshman
Kenny Leech/Boca Raton, Fla. (Grandview Prep) (82-73-73--228, t-38th), senior
Scooter Buhrman/Fayetteville, N.C. (Jack Britt) (83-75-72--230, t-48th) and junior
