CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University finished 12th among 18 teams at the annual Cavalier Classic men's golf tournament hosted by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. The Lancers posted a round of 303 Saturday before the second and final round could not be completed on Sunday due to a stoppage of play for lightning in the area, and it was deemed too late to complete the round as the last group still needed to finish 12 holes. The University of South Carolina won the event with its 286 on Saturday at the 6,875-yard, par 72 Birdwood Golf Course, while Josh Brock of UNC Wilmington took individual medalist honors with his opening 67. Longwood completed its 2008-09 campaign with its participation in the Cavalier Classic.
