TAMPA, Fla. – Longwood University posted a final round of 305 Friday in women's golf for a 36-hole total of 617 (312-305) to finish in third place among 17 teams at the NIU Snowbird Intercollegiate hosted by Northern Illinois University in Tampa, Florida. Georgetown University won the event with its 309-301--610, while the University of Florida's Nicole Schachner, playing as an individual, took medalist honors with her 72-75--147 at the 5,940-yard, par 72 Pebble Creek Country Club. Longwood will play again March 21-22 at the First Market Bank Intercollegiate hosted by the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg.
In Florida, Longwood was led by senior
Mary Carmody/Cortland, N.Y. (Cortland) with her 75-73--148 that tied her for second-place among the 101 golfers. Carmody was followed by sophomore
