STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Longwood University shot a 54-hole score of 313-312-325--950 in women's golf to finish 10th among 16 teams Sunday at the Nittany Lion Women's Invitational hosted by Penn State University and played at the Penn State Golf Course in State College, Pennsylvania. Rollins College won the event with its 300-296-313--909 at 6,300-yard, par 72 layout, while Penn State's Emily Ransone took medalist honors with her 71-74-73--218. The Lancers were led by junior
Kameron Carter/Bassett (Bassett) with her 72-76-76--224 to finish seventh among the 90 collegiate golfers. Longwood will compete again October 12-13 at the Spider Invitational in Midlothian to be hosted by the University of Richmond.

Ariel Witmer/North Lima, Ohio (South Range) 8180-80--241, t-49th), sophomore
Alexa Boucher/Orange (Orange) (84-78-83--245, t-58th) and junior
Brooke Mallory/Brockville, Ontario (St. Mary Catholic) (81-78-86--245, t-58th), along with freshman
Ha Lee/Hagerstown, Md. (Smithsburg) (79-82-86--247, t-65th).
The Richmond/Spider Invitational will be played at the
Independence Golf Club, Richmond's newest and most upscale daily-fee golf course designed by world renowned Tom Fazio; owned by the Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) Foundation and operated by KemperSports.
