COMPLETE RESULTS
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Longwood University posted a final round of 287 Saturday in men's golf for 54-hole total of 871 (297-287-287) to place 10th among 18 teams at The McLaughlin hosted by St. John's University in Farmingdale, New York. Southeastern Louisiana University won the event with its 279-288-287--854 at the 6,730-yard, par 70 Bethpage Red Course, while there was a three-way tie between Iona's Sean Curtin (74-69-66--209), Sacred Heart's Pat Fillian (67-71-71--209) and Johnson & Wales' Dave Tobon (71-69-69--209) for medalist honors. The Lancers will play again September 29-30 at the Cleveland State Invitational in Ohio.
In New York, Longwood was led by junior
Adam Webb/Ridgeway (Magna Vista) with his 75-67-70--212, good for a 10th-place tie among the 93 collegiate golfers. Webb was followed by senior
Scooter Buhrman/Fayetteville, N.C. (Jack Britt) (75-76-68--219, t-35th) and sophomore
Michael Young/Oakville, Ontario (Oakville Trafalgar) (73-71-75--219, t-35th), along with freshmen
Kenny Leech/Boca Raton, Fla. (Grandview Prep) (76-73-74--223, t-54th) and
Ross Sumner/Callao (Northumberland) (74-81-75--230, t-79th).
