LYNCHBURG, Va. – Longwood track continued to set the standard at the 12
th Annual Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational in their inaugural indoor track season.
Sophie Farley,
Ayden Stewart,
Kris Mickens Rachel Zimmer,
Andrew Hathaway and Liliana Arevalo along with a relay group set program records in the team's final meet prior to the Big South Championship.
NOTABLES:
Sophie Farley shaved ten seconds off her previous program record in the mile invite, finishing sixth overall with a time of 4:55.45.
The Lancers competed in their first 300M race on both the men's and women's sides in program history, and
Rachael Zimmer established the program record on the women's side, finishing 27
th overall with a time of 42.29, while
Quinn Marcinek finished with a time of 37.14, finishing 17
th overall for the men.
Kris Mickens soared for the men's long jump with a 6.69m effort to break his own program record by more than half a meter.
Ayden Stewart posted a time of 48.72 in the men's 400M invite, earning 11
th place overall and breaking the program record that he held in the process.
The 4x400 group of Seidel, Martin, Childs, and Stewart set a new school record with a time of 3:21.83 to finish out the event

"The team put a solid effort in this weekend as our last tune-up before our first conference indoor championship", said Head Coach
Brooke Craig. "It showed us some things we need to fine-tune over these next few weeks. The team has put in good work in adverse training conditions this winter, and we're looking forward to seeing the results in two weeks."
