Hannah Ledger Promoted to Senior Woman Administrator

FARMVILLE, Va. - Longwood Athletics veteran leader Hannah Ledger has been named to the department's Senior Woman Administrator.  
 
Ledger currently serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Mental Health and Wellness, and along with adding SWA responsibilities, she will oversee the Lancers' Academic Services.  
 
"Hannah has been instrumental in the continued development and growth of our student-athletes during her time at Longwood," Athletics Director Tim Hall said. "She knows and understands their needs better than anyone and will continue to be impactful in her current role along with adding the responsibilities of Senior Woman Administrator and overseeing Academic Services. Her knowledge and experience are valuable as we strive to empower our student-athletes and help them grow as citizen leaders." 
 
After joining Longwood Athletics in October of 2016, Ledger served as the Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement, before being promoted to Assistant AD and later Associate AD for Academics and Student Services. In 2023, she moved into her current position as the Senior Associate AD. Ledger has also overseen the compliance department during her career.  
 
In her current role, she offers counseling and mental health support to student-athletes on an individual basis as well as in group settings. She provides mental health workshops and helps educate student-athletes, coaches, and staff about relevant mental health issues. 
 
During her time in charge of Longwood's Academic Services, Ledger helped the program post record GPAs year after year, culminating with a 3.40 spring GPA and 3.37 overall GPA in 2022-23. Those GPAs were the best in recorded history for the department at the time. 
   
She also oversaw the 'Lancer Legacy' program, which welcomes freshman student-athletes to Longwood and teaches them how to be successful. She managed the new life skills programming that teaches student-athletes how to be successful in areas off the field, and in their future beyond Longwood.  
 
In addition to serving with 'Lancer Legacy,' life skills and academics for student-athletes, Ledger served as an advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.), an organization made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and to offer input on the rules, regulations, and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses. 
  
Ledger started her time at Longwood University as an Education Support Specialist (2011-14), before moving into the Director of Degree Audit role (2014-16). She also has experience with NCAA Compliance, Centra Southside Farmville Medical Center, Pasquotank County Social Services, CitiFinancial and Northeastern Family Medicine.  
 
Ledger graduated from Longwood University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in history and received her Master of Science in community & college counseling in 2014 from the institution. She has training from the Longwood Online Technology Institute, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Longwood's Teaching and Learning Institute, Embracing Change and Supervisory Management Seminar.
