LYNCHBURG, Va. – Longwood track had a handful of runners take part in one final tune-up on Friday night at the Hill City Twilight.
The Lancer runners who took the track put up some solid times prior to the Big South Championship in 10 days.
On the men's side,
Andrew Hathaway put up the second-fastest time in the men's 800m in team history, and two other Lancers broke the two-minute barrier.
Hathaway's time of 1:55.07 was a personal best and helped him finish fifth in the event.
Clinton Clancy had a 1:59.32 to break two minutes for the first time, and
Christian Reid finished at 1:59.67 to break the two-minute barrier for the first time as well.
For the women,
Lanie Grogg had a 2:19.64 to finish second in the field.
Nyomi Rhodes also posted a 15.07 in the women's 100m hurdles to finish third, and it lowered her personal best by nearly half a second.
Kirsten Morley ran a personal best in the 1,500m with a 4:57.52.
In the men's 1,500m,
Andrew Schaefer lowered his personal best by one second with a 4:16.05.
