FARMVILLE, Va. — The Longwood men's tennis team will play 19 matches, including seven at home as part of its 2026 schedule, announced Thursday by Director of Tennis Charlotte Clarke.
The Lancers, who qualified for the Big South tournament for the second consecutive season a year ago, finished 7-11 overall and 1-2 league matches.
The Lancers open the spring with four straight road matches beginning Jan. 29 at Navy. Longwood is at Christopher Newport on Jan. 31, William & Mary on Feb. 1 and Liberty on Feb. 6.
The home slate starts against Richmond on Feb. 15 at 2 p.m., on the New Lancer Courts. Longwood beat Richmond, 4-3, last April 9 on the road for its first win over the Spiders since 2012.
The Lancers head to James Madison on Feb. 22 before hosting Ferrum Feb. 25 to start a run of three of four contests at home. Following a Feb. 28 date at Hampton, Longwood returns home to meet Campbell March 3 at 2 p.m. The Lancers also topped the Fighting Camels last season for the first time in 18 years with a 4-3 victory on Feb. 8, 2025.
Big South action gets underway March 6 at home against Gardner-Webb at 2 p.m., and continues at Presbyterian March 8, beginning a stretch of six matches away from Farmville.
In that time, Longwood closes league play at UNC Asheville March 21 and travels to reigning NCAA champion Wake Forest March 22. Also, the Lancers head to MEAC schools, Norfolk State (March 17), Howard (March 25) and end the trip at North Carolina Central on March 26.
Longwood wrap the regular season with three at home against North Carolina A&T on March 31, Davidson on April 4 and Lynchburg on April 9.
The six-team Big South championship is slated for April 16-18 at Lexington County Tennis Complex in Lexington, S.C.
