FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood field hockey goalkeeper
Sophie Mooldijk came up big when it mattered most last week, and the MAC conference office recognized her as the Goalkeeper of the Week today.

Mooldijk earned the win in goal for Longwood in a thrilling 3-2 overtime road win at Kent State on Sunday.

In the process, the sophomore tallied 15 saves while facing 28 shots. She had six of her saves in the second quarter alone to keep Longwood within a goal at the half, and the Lancer offense scored two goals after halftime to force overtime.

For the season, Mooldijk leads the MAC in both saves (103) and saves per game (8.58), and she has played every minute of the season. She holds a .733 save percentage and has one shutout this year.

The Lancers are back in action with a trip to No. 16 UMass on Friday, October 10. First push is set for 4 p.m., and the match will air on ESPN+.
