BLACKSBURG, Va. — The ninth-seeded Longwood men's tennis pair of senior Timéo Puech and junior Daniel Borisov won their round of 16 doubles match to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 ITA Atlantic Regional at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Saturday.
Puech and Borisov dispatched Thomas Brandao and Nicolas Iantosca of Virginia Tech, 8-2, to move forward. Next up for the Longwood duo is Virginia's Keegan Rice and Jangjun Kim, the No. 2 seed, at 12:30 p.m., on Sunday. That team knocked out Thomas Nelson and Adam Majchrzak from Old Dominion earlier Saturday.
The doubles champions this weekend earn a spot in the field at the NCAA Individual Championships, which will be held in Lake Nona, Fla., at the USTA National Campus on Nov. 18-23.
Borisov started his Saturday with a three-set defeat to Stiles Brockett of Virginia in the second round of the singles main draw. Brockett won, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3, to move on.
Longwood then reeled off three victories — from Puech, Alejandro Uribe and Daniel Lopez, respectively — in the singles consolation draw.
Puech outlasted Felix Obermair of ODU, 6-1, 1-6, 10-7, while Uribe and Lopez each won in straight sets. Uribe bested Nick Lawliss from Loyola, 6-2, 6-2, while Lopez took care of Frank Thompson of Virginia Tech, 6-4, 6-2.
