RICHMOND, Va. —The Longwood men's tennis team won six matches on the second day of the River City Tennis Open on Saturday.
Petar Belosevic outlasted Dean Rostom of Georgetown in three sets, 7-5, 1-6, 10-1, and Mauricio Gonzalez Paiva defeated the Hoyas' Burke Pablo, 6-4, 7-5.
A pair of Longwood freshmen then topped two more players from Georgetown in three sets each. Marko Mrdak bested Henry Williams, 6-2, 5-7, 10-8, and Petter Lindquist beat Jacob Mann, 3-6, 7-5, 10-8.
Belosevic and Paiva Gonzalez defeated Williams and Mann in doubles, 6-1, while Timeo Puech and Mrdak won over Richmond's Davis Wiley and Cole Brashear, 7-5, to round out the Lancers' winners on the day.
The final day of the event is set to begin Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
