Â
WHAT THEY SAID:
Â
"We definitely did a number of things well today, especially considering that most of us have not played a true tournament round in over three months," said Longwood Head Coach
Kevin Fillman. "Obviously, Scott played extremely well. He kept it pretty simple, took advantage of the opportunities he gave himself and limited his mistakes to just a bogey here and there."
Â
"Overall, despite not starting or finishing as we intended, I like the way we hung in and the fight we showed for the 28 or 30 holes in between," Fillman added. "The one thing we're going to have to do better tomorrow is get the ball in the hole quicker. We missed a lot of makeable putts today, which could have kept momentum headed in the right direction. When those drop, we'll be in pretty good shape."
