CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ireland McDermott and
Luna Prieri were two of Longwood field hockey's top performers during the fall, and the MAC recognized it. The duo earned All-MAC postseason honors, the conference announced on Thursday morning.

McDermott was named to the All-MAC Second Team, and Prieri earned an All-Freshman Team nod.

A senior, McDermott was a steadying presence at the back for the Lancers while also serving as one of the team's top threats on the penalty corner. She was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week once after helping lead the team to a MAC win over Ball State.

On the season, McDermott led the team in minutes, since she played every minute of every match, and started all 18 matches. She tallied three goals to go with two assists while playing at the center of the Lancer back line. She also led the team with four defensive saves, tied for second-most in the MAC.

Prieri was a dynamic forward for Longwood that tied for the team lead in goal, assists and points. She posted four goals on the season, which was tied for 17
th in the MAC. Her four assists tied for 11
th in the league as well.

The freshman led Longwood with 44 shots and put 35 on goal, and she added a defensive save as well. She had one game winner when she scored in overtime to knock off Richmond to open the season.

Longwood's fall season has concluded, and the team will return to chase the MAC Championship in the fall of 2024.
