SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Ester Choi tied for seventh after 36 holes of golf, and the Longwood women's golf team sits in ninth of 17 teams after the first day of the Terrier Intercollegiate on Monday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
After a solid start, Choi took off for the second round for the Lancer women. The sophomore fired a team-best 72 and climbed 11 spots in the standings to end the day tied for seventh.
 
Mary-Sears Brown fired matching 77's to tie for 25^th in the 90-player field. She finished the day with 19 pars.
 
Emma Landis sits tied for 44^th, and Lexie Dawson is tied for 50^th, as the two sit one stroke apart in the standings. Landis was tied for the team lead with five birdies on the day while Dawson finished with four.
 
Grace Huffman is tied for 76^th.
 
The Lancers sit one stroke back of eighth-place Wofford and four strokes back from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in seventh.
 
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
 
Choi had five birdies to tie for the team lead with Landis.
 
Choi also was tied for the second-best average score among the field on Par 3s, posting a 2.88 scoring average. She was also tied for eighth on Par 4s at 4.15.
 
Brown had four birdies to tie Dawson for third-most on the team.
 
The Lancers had the fifth-best scoring average on Par 4s, averaging a 4.38.
