The Opening Tip
•   Longwood is attempting its second straight regular season sweep over Campbell after taking down the Fighting Camels 79-77 on Dec. 29. Longwood has won five straight games against the Fighting Camels dating back to the 2013-14 season.
•   Longwood is down to just seven available scholarship players after a rash of injuries. Most recently,
Bryan Gee was shut down for the season due to prolonged overtraining syndrome stemming from offseason surgery.
Damarion Geter (broken foot),
Jahleem Montague (torn ACL) and
Juan Munoz (torn ACL) are also on the team's long-term injury report, while Kendrick Thompson will miss the remainder of the year due to academic reasons.
•   Senior guard
Darrion Allen scored his 1,000th career point this past week, becoming the fifth player of Longwood's 10-year Division I era to reach that mark and the 21st in school history.
Last Time Out
•   David Efianayi poured in 20 points to lead a group of five double-figure scorers that propelled Gardner-Webb past Longwood 90-64 Saturday afternoon at Paul Porter Arena.
 •   Efianayi was nearly perfect from the field, hitting 8-of-10 field goals  to lead Gardner Webb to its fourth win in the past five games.Â
•   Fellow Bulldogs Tyrell Nelson and LaQuincy Rideau complemented him with 15 points, while Liam O'Reilly scored 14 and DJ Laster added 10.Â
•   Longwood's starting five matched Gardner-Webb's starting five in scoring, 53-53, but the Runnin' Bulldog bench made up the difference, outscoring Longwood's three available reserves 37-11.
•   The short-handed Lancers got 20 points from
Isaiah Walton and 16 from
Khris Lane.
JaShaun Smith also neared a double-double with nine points and a career-high eight rebounds.
By The Numbers
•   Due to a rash of injuries, Longwood has leaned on just six players to shoulder the bulk of the team's minutes. The Lancers have five players averaging at least 20.0 minutes per game and three —
Darrion Allen (35.6 mpg.),
Khris Lane (33.4) and
Isaiah Walton (31.3) — averaging at least 30.0 minutes per game.
•   Longwood's trio of Allen, Lane and Walton combine to average 43.9 points per game, making them the third-highest scoring trio in the Big South. They trail only Campbell and Winthrop on the list of Big South's top scoring trios.
•  Â
Darrion Allen scored his 1,000th career point on Feb. 1, 2017 against High Point, becoming the 21st player in school history to reach that plateau. Â After averaging just 5.4 points over his first two seasons, Allen has averaged double digits in his past two seasons, including a career-best 14.0 as a senior in 2016-17.
•   Longwood forward
JaShaun Smith has a block in 13 consecutive games, the longest such stretch of Longwood's 10-year Division I era. His 12-game streak snaps the previous record of nine games set by
Lotanna Nwogbo in 2015-16.
•   The 6-5, 200-pound Smith has already amassed 28 blocks in his freshman season, the second most by a Longwood freshman in the program's 10-year Division I era. The only Lancer he trails on that list is 6-9, 205-pound center Michael Kessens, who made 42 rejections 2012-13.
•   Longwood ranks second in the Big South with 4.2 blocks per game. Three Lancers — Smith (1.3 bpg.), Lane (1.2) and Allen (0.8) — rank among the Big South's top 10 in blocks per game. Longwood is the only team in the conference to have three players ranked in the top 10 in that category.
•   Allen has scored 11 points in each of his first two games against Campbell at the Pope Convocation Center. He averages 12.2 points in five career games against the Fighting Camels.
