FARMVILLE, Va. - Highlighted by seven home games in the electric Joan Perry Brock Center, road trips to in-state rivals George Mason, James Madison and Old Dominion, and a showdown with Georgia Tech, Longwood men's basketball and head coach Ronnie Thomas announced a dynamic 16-game non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 season. 
 
Anchoring the home slate during Homecoming & Alumni Weekend on Saturday, Nov. 7, is a showdown against perennial Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship contender and 2026 league runner-up North Carolina Central. In the latest showdown between the mid-major teams, the matchup will mark the fourth consecutive season the Lancers and Eagles have squared off, doing so this year in front of an anticipated capacity crowd during Longwood's annual alumni reunion weekend. 
   
Along with the marquee homecoming bout, Longwood's home ledger also includes visits from in-state foe VMI (Nov. 18), Maryland Eastern Shore (Nov. 29), former Big South rival Campbell (Dec. 2), and Morgan State (Dec. 19).

A ticket guarantees the holder a seat for all men's and women's basketball home games throughout the regular season. Individual game tickets will go on sale on Oct. 15, while individual game times will also be announced at a later date. 
 
The non-conference schedule also features three road games against teams that won more than 20 contests and played in the National Invitation Tournament last season in Saint Joseph's, East Tennessee State, and George Mason.  
 
The Lancers open the season against Pfeiffer on Monday, Nov. 2, as part of a doubleheader with the women's program, which hosts the Apprentice School. Longwood hits the road for the first time, facing the first of three 2026 NIT teams in Saint Joseph's, which went 24-12 last season, on Nov. 4. It is the first meeting between the Lancers and the Atlantic 10 program.  

Longwood returns home to host St. Mary's on Tuesday, Nov. 10. 
 
In total, the Lancers will play five teams from the Commonwealth, beginning with the start of a home-and-home series with Old Dominion. Longwood travels to Norfolk to take on the Monarchs for the first time since 2021 on Saturday, Nov. 14. ODU will travel to the Joan Perry Brock Center next year. 

Longwood will face its second Southern Conference opponent of the season when it travels to East Tennessee State, which won 23 games last season and claimed the SoCon regular-season title, on Saturday, Nov. 21.  
 
Within the state, the Lancers head to A-10 foe George Mason on Wednesday, Nov. 25, and Sun Belt opponent in James Madison on Sunday, Dec. 6. The Patriots advanced to the NIT last season behind 23 wins, while Longwood topped James Madison in the JPB, 82-72, last season.  
 
The Lancers will face two CAA programs and a trio of teams from the MEAC during the non-conference slate. Longwood hosts Campbell on Wednesday, Dec. 2, following a 77-55 victory over the Camels in 2024. The Lancers travel to Elon for the first time since 1997 on Wednesday, Dec. 16. 
 
Longwood also hosts Maryland Eastern Shore (Nov. 29) and Morgan State (Dec. 19). It marks the fourth straight season in which the Lancers have faced the Hawks and Bears.  
 
The Lancers travel to Delaware State on Saturday, Dec. 12. The teams meet for the sixth time in the last six seasons. 
 
Longwood travels to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech for the first time on Tuesday, Dec. 22. It marks the fourth-straight year that Longwood has faced an ACC opponent.  
 
The Lancers wrap up the non-conference slate when they welcome the University of Lynchburg to the JPB on Monday, Dec. 28.
