CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The final touches on an exciting 2026-27 regular season schedule are complete for Longwood men's basketball, as the Big South Conference released the full league slate on Wednesday. The league schedule will include four of the Lancers' first six games in from of a raucous Joan Perry Brock Center crowd.
The Lancers will face the challenge of a full 16-game round-robin Big South ledger, as the program chases its third conference crown in six seasons. The announcement comes on the heels of a
strong non-conference slate that features a Homecoming and Alumni Weekend date with North Carolina Central on Saturday, Nov. 7, as well as visits from VMI (Nov. 18), Campbell (Dec. 2), and Morgan State (Dec. 19) to the Joan Perry Brock Center. The non-conference slate also includes road trips to NIT participants St. Joseph's (Nov. 4), ETSU (Nov. 21), and George Mason (Nov. 25) along with contests at Old Dominion (Nov. 14), James Madison (Dec. 6), and Georgia Tech (Dec. 22).

The Big South schedule, which opens on New Year's Day when the Lancers host Charleston Southern, runs through the final Saturday in February to set the stage for the magic of March in the Big South Tournament, March 3-7, at the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tenn.
Longwood plays four of its first six Big South games at home inside the JPB but will close out the month of February with four of its final six on the road.
The Lancers' home league ledger starts with the opening weekend against Charleston Southern on Jan. 1 and Presbyterian on Sunday, Jan. 3. A Wednesday trip to Winthrop on Jan. 6 culminates a three-game in a six-day stretch to start the year.
After a second-straight road game at UNC Asheville on Jan. 13, Longwood is back in the friendly confines of the Joan Perry Brock Center for matchups with Radford on Saturday, Jan. 16, and Gardner-Webb on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
The Lancers travel to High Point on Saturday, Jan. 23, before hosting USC Upstate on Thursday, Jan. 28. After starting the Big South schedule against Charleston Southern, Longwood will make the return trip to face the Buccaneers and close out the month on Saturday, Jan. 30.
Longwood will play four of its seven games during the month of February on the road. The Lancers host Winthrop (Feb. 3), UNC Asheville (Feb. 13), and High Point (Feb. 25) during the final month of the regular season. Longwood will make road trips to Presbyterian (Feb. 6), Gardner-Webb (Feb. 11), Radford (Feb. 20), and USC Upstate (Feb. 27).
Basketball season tips off with a men's and women's basketball doubleheader on Monday, Nov. 2, at the Joan Perry Brock Center. Under second-year head coach
Ronnie Thomas, the men's program hosts Pfeiffer at 7:30 p.m., while the women's team, off back-to-back 20-win seasons, opens with the Apprentice School at 5 p.m.
